Street Pastors meeting in Inverness, 27/28 April

thought posted by Mark H on Wednesday 28 March 04:00PM

This is an advance date for your diary. Les Isaac, the director of the Ascension Trust, and Eustace Constance, will be visiting Inverness on Friday 27 April (afternoon and evening) and Saturday 28 April (morning) to meet with anybody interested in starting Street Pastors in the Inverness area.

I will post further details to the calendar when I have them. The visit will include a meeting where Les and Eustace can share the model for Street Pastors, answer your questions, and discuss the steps involved in setting up Street Pastors. This meeting will be suitable for church leaders and/or church members who might form the main point of contact for Street Pastors in their local church.

I’m also hoping that we can visit areas around Inverness to discuss street issues that churches are heartbroken about in their community. It would be great to include local community police officers in this as well. If this is interesting to you, or you have a good relationship with your community bobby, then please contact me and we’ll arrange what we can (and maybe do further follow-up if we can’t fit everything in with one visit).

You can or telephone 01463 243 603.

Please forward this information on to people. If you’d like to be added to the local Street Pastors mailing list then please send me your details. Letters of introduction with brochures will be going out in the next few days.

I’m firming-up the details of the visit and I’ll post to the calendar here, and also to Christians Together soon.

There will be a meeting on Friday 27 April, 5pm-6:30 at the Inverness CYC (ex-YMCA) on Bank Street. The meeting will be for local leaders or their representatives or anybody interested in being a main point of contact within their church to learn more about the steps needed to set-up Street Pastors in our area. If you’re not sure if that means you, then please come along anyway!

We will then move on to a BBQ at Mark and Sue’s house in Hilton from 7pm onwards to continue discussion informally and to be joined by anybody who is interested in Street Pastors at any level, to simply hang out together and ask any more questions. Let’s hope for some good weather!

There will also be opportunity for an hour or two on Saturday morning for any that wish to discuss anything else with Les and Eustace before catching their flights home.

Watch this space!

God said "it is not good for the man to be alone", or in this context: there's nothing worse than a monologue! Why not leave a comment and join the discussion?
