over all the glory there will be a canopy (Isaiah 4)

Following Jesus onto the streets

thought posted by Mark H on Saturday 24 March 07:45AM

I was unable to hold back the tears as I listened to Mark Marx last night, sharing account after account of people experiencing the love of God on the streets of Coleraine. The hallmark of all the tremendous accounts of healings and miracles is our Father’s love for His children. Even more so than the humbling accounts of Jesus-followers loving people, including the unlovable. The presence of God is felt on the streets. People come just to experience the amazing sense of peace and love. Some are healed just by being in the environment, without anybody praying for them. Some just come to hang-out in the oasis, where they also build-up relationships with people and see the love of God within us tested.

Mark said “if you could read the Bible without any other external influence, then you’d come to the conclusion that Jesus wants to be out on the streets where people are.” That was a choker for me. 18 months ago Jesus started taking me into a recurring vision where He and I are walking the streets together. My feet are somehow inside His feet, and my hands are somehow inside His hands. We go to people. We lay hands on people and they are healed. More recently, I’ve received a similar, recurring vision of riding through the streets on the shoulders of my Heavenly Daddy. This is where He wants to be, if we will just follow Him then we will find a place of peace, without striving, we will draw closer to Him and we will sense new depths of His presence.

The M.O. of Healing On The Streets is our awesome God’s love. The hallmarks include peace, lack of striving, a warm invitation to Holy Spirit, and an incredible sense of the presence of Jesus, and the love of our Father. It is not outreach. It is church on the streets. It is Jesus-followers assembling where Jesus longs to be, loving people, helping people, and letting people check us out in their own time. I’ve longed for this moment for so long, and I’m weeping as I write, just longing to put my feet in His feet, and my hands in His hands. I know that I’m going to become undone again today. The streets are waiting.

(Several people were healed of long-term back problems last night. We saw God grow uneven length legs, and in one case arms, to restore straightness in people’s backs. Our God is truly awesome. His love for us is more than all we can ask or imagine.)

God said "it is not good for the man to be alone", or in this context: there's nothing worse than a monologue! Why not leave a comment and join the discussion?
