over all the glory there will be a canopy (Isaiah 4)
Healing at the bus stop
story posted by Alison R on Monday 11 August 01:00PM

At a recent prayer meeting on the Black Isle, God told us to go out onto the streets. We didn’t know where to go, so we went to the bus stop at Avoch where many young people gather.
There was a large crowd of about twenty there. We had a bit of banter with them for a while, then a young guy drove up with a heavily bandaged finger and got out to speak to the others. We were still on the periphery at this point but I asked him if he wanted God to heal his finger, which he’d sliced badly whilst using a lawnmover, or strimmer, something like that. He was very unsure and used his mates for moral support, so they all came into the conversation.
Anyway the upshot was that we ended up praying for loads of them, I’ve lost track how many, for the finger, for Perth’s disease, in the hip joint of the same guy, for addiction to smoking, for an ankle which had been damaged quite a long time ago and never healed properly and was sore, for someone whose nose dislocated regularly, for toothache. I can’t remember them all – there were so many!
After prayer, the one with the sore ankle took off his heavy boots, borrowed a pair of trainers and went running off up the street. The toothache went immediately too.
We had a wonderful night. We’ve made good friendships with a new group of young people and they’ve experienced God’s love for them in practical ways. We are so thankful to God for all He is doing.

God said "it is not good for the man to be alone", or in this context: there's nothing worse than a monologue! Why not leave a comment and join the discussion?
