over all the glory there will be a canopy (Isaiah 4)

Hand restored

A lady came to us on the streets to tell us what Jesus has done for her.

A couple of us first met her a few weeks earlier at a conference about cross-cultural communication. During lunch she shared how she had developed arthritis in various joints in her body including her legs and one hand in particular which was inflamed and painful. She also had a tremendous amount of anxiety about how the condition was upsetting her family.

We shared some stories from Healing On The Streets and offered to pray. God’s glory came in one of the most gentle and tender ways I’ve ever experienced and we could see anxiety lifting away. We spoke wholeness and blessing to her hand and we cursed the arthritis.

She was very excited when she found us on the streets a few weeks later. A number of other Jesus-followers had been praying for her along with ourselves. She’d then been to the doctors for tests. A blood test showed that there was still traces of arthritis. But an X-Ray showed a complete restoration of the bones in her hand. We could see that all the inflammation had gone. She was able to flex all her fingers and her wrist without any of the pain that she’d suffered before.

She was rushing through town that day, but we would love to see her again and have opportunity to minister Jesus’ healing touch to the remaining traces of arthritis. Although, who knows: the complete healing may already be manifest by now?
