over all the glory there will be a canopy (Isaiah 4)
The lame walk

Where do I start? Our Father’s love is just incredible.

40 Jesus-followers from 5 different churches knelt down on the pavement in one of the busiest shopping areas in Inverness yesterday and prayed together. We waited until we were sure of the loving presence of our Heavenly Daddy and then we stood-up and invited people to experience His love for themselves. We invited people to take a seat and receive healing.
I could write so much. I really could. There was such a sense of peace and love. Nobody was striving. People were coming and Jesus was healing them. This was the church on the streets that I’ve been imagining. It’s hard to explain the difference between this and “outreach” if you haven’t experienced it. But it wasn’t “outreach”. It was church. Worshipful instrumental music. Our Daddy’s presence. The community of believers ministering wholeness. It was unusual but it was also “normal”.
I helped a man with gout in one leg. God’s love rushed upon Him with such tenderness that I was almost in tears as I commanded the gout to leave and circulation to be restored. I asked him if he was able to test it. He stood on his bad leg, looked me in the eyes and said “That’s incredible. That’s absolutely incredible.” I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “That’s how much God loves you” I said handing him one of our follow-up packs for him to read at his leisure (and I’m sure that he will, after that encounter). “We’re here every Saturday. Pop by any time and say hello, and bring your friends”.
Meanwhile, all around me people were being helped under the canopy of our Father’s love. Several back conditions were healed, unequal length limbs grew, smoking addictions were addressed, and emotional healing was taking place.
Then there was an excited commotion. A group of ladies who had been helping a lady called Sue were broken to tears. Sue took our hand-held mic and told the passing shoppers what had happened to her. She’d arrived with painful osteoarthritis and osteoporosis in her right hip and lower back which had reduced her walking, aided by a stick, to a rather slow pace. She had been completely healed. “Jesus is alive today” she announced to everybody “He’s just healed me”. She left us her walking stick as a souvenir (you can see it hanging below our PA speaker on the photos). She was last seen walking up and down the stairs in the shopping mall, trying out her “new” legs.
“Daddy. Your love is just awesome. Thank you for such an encouraging start. I can hardly wait until next week.”
If you were there then please your reports and photos and I’ll publish them here on the website – or leave a comment below.

God said "it is not good for the man to be alone", or in this context: there's nothing worse than a monologue! Why not leave a comment and join the discussion?

Thank you so very much for sharing. What a wonderful testimony to Our Lord (Daddy) making himself present when called upon.
To those who say the gifts of the Holy Spirit died with the Apostles, take notice of this testimony. To those who say that God’s presence is no longer here for us to embrace…take notice.
God Bless You and your prayer team. Please continue to share as your works are a blessing to all who love Our Lord!
With you all the way!

Sue kindly wrote out her account of her healing. I’ve posted it here and I’ve made a few minor changes to this post in the interests of maintaining absolute accuracy.
Thank you Sue, and thank YOU Jesus!
(We’re back on the streets in an hour. Our Heavenly Daddy has been overwhelming me all morning with waves of compassion. I’m busted-up again.)

Wonderful testimony! I love what you guys (er and ladies) are doing on the streets.
Mark, your blogs have really been challenging me. A couple of weeks ago we added regular times of praying for the sick in our gatherings. We’re annointing with oil and praying the prayer of faith. I believe in it.
I can’t wait until we get people in our gathering on board and ready to believe for healing among the homeless on our streets.
Thanks for modeling it for us.

Thanks John.
I think what you guys are doing with the homeless – bringing church, not outreach – is wonderful, and I’m praying for you.
I appreciate your encouragement and I’m humbled that we’ve inspired you. But let’s agree that Jesus is our model ;-)
